MEET ANGIE: An active mom of three boys
Tell us a little bit about yourself: your lifestyle, your family...anything you want people to know!
I am an active mom of three boys residing in the Seattle area. To me, fashion is wearable art. I love to use clothing as a means for individualized self-expression.
Where is your favorite warm destination to travel / vacation (or favorite travel memory)?
Maui is my favorite destination for relaxation. However, our family recently traveled to Scottsdale, Arizona and it was the best vacation we’ve taken in a long time!
How would you describe your personal style?
I’d describe my personal style as joyfully-eclectic. I don’t like wearing the same thing as everyone else. I will always try to find a new way to wear something, or add a creative embellishment to anything that might be considered “safe.”
Why do you enjoy being an XCVI ambassador?
I love being an XCVI ambassador because the brand has so many user-friendly pieces! They offer a variety of staples that I can mix and match with other things already in my closet. As a busy mom, I need clothes that will be comfortable throughout ALL of my daily activities. I also travel quite a bit, and can honestly say if you see me in the airport, I will most likely be in something from XCVI!
What are your plans for 2020? Any big trips, events or activities?
I have a lot of travel adventures to look forward to in the coming months! Currently, my husband and I are planning another getaway to the Scottsdale area…this time sans kids :). Our older two boys play a lot of baseball, so we are constantly traveling with their teams throughout the summer. I am very excited to be attending an Influencers of Midlife conference in the Fall (although I struggle with the term midlife, and still think of the 90’s as "recent history") . And finally, our family has a tradition of traveling over Thanksgiving because the best brunch-buffet you could ever imagine is located in Palm Desert!
Tell us about a piece of clothing you are sentimental about and why
I have a pair of floral, corduroy pants that resemble the things my mom would make for me to wear as a little girl. Every time I wear them, I am reminded of the labors of love that come with motherhood.
Where do you shop for clothing?
My most frequented stores are the ones closest to me…Target and Nordstrom Rack. But, the convenience of online shopping has made it easy to enjoy a vast number of retailers. I love the selection and quality of Nordstrom. I am a big fan of any brand that embraces color; Boden, Madewell, Kate Spade and Trina Turk are a few that come to mind. And, of course XCVI is a favorite for a variety of reasons, but topping that list is comfort and dependability!
Do you feel comfortable shopping online for clothing?
I feel most comfortable shopping for clothing online when I already know the brands that work for me. Some stores are more consistent with sizing and affordability than others. As long as the online retailer has a dependable return policy, I feel the convenience outweighs the risk for sure!
Who is your favorite artist/musician/performer?
I’m a big fan of The Zac Brown Band and have seen them multiple times in concert. I also love stand up comedy! I’m currently holding tickets to see Jim Gaffigan when he comes to Seattle this summer, and I can’t wait!
Can you please add a note about what you're doing during social distancing? Homeschooling kids, etc?
We’re busy playing board games, taking the dogs on long walks, trying new recipes, and purging closets. We’re also trying to keep in mind that social distancing is really just a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things.
